Welcome to Katrina Wrote This. A 1-2 times weekly newsletter about writing, reading, and as of recently, being unemployed.
Hi, I’m Katrina!
I’m a mom, writer, and marketer living on the North Shore of Massachusetts. Reading and writing have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I wrote my first book in third grade (a mystery titled “The Case of the Broken Pipe”), and have been a voracious reader since I learned how.
Writing this newsletter is a way for me to connect with other book lovers and aspiring authors, especially those who are too nervous to actually put pen to paper (or hands to keyboard) and are trying to break out of their writing comfort zone.
After working in marketing for the last decade, I was let go from my job at an agency in December 2024. Since then, I’ve been chronicling my job hunt and exploring all my complicated feelings about being unemployed.
When I’m not reading, writing, or applying to jobs, I’m probably following around my two young kids, alternating between squeezing their guts and covering them with kisses and cleaning up the never-ending mess two children supply.
What You’ll Get
By becoming a subscriber, you’ll receive posts once or twice a week talking about books, unemployment, or whatever happens to be going through my mind that week.
All subscribers will have access to book and most writing posts, but by becoming a paid subscriber, you’ll have access to my unemployment posts and personal essays, plus the entire archive.
You’ll also be supporting my work and helping me justify (mostly to myself) the time I spend on this Substack. In case I haven’t quite convinced you, here’s 10% off an annual subscription.
